Canstruction^® is a not for profit event that began in 1992 in New York as a friendly competition between architects, engineers, designers, contractors and the community in general to design and build amazing sculptures out of cans of food. These colossal structures are judged for various awards such as Best Original Design, Best Use of Labels, Best Meal and Structural Ingenuity. At the conclusion of the event all food items are donated to local food banks.

In 2024 Canstruction^® events around the world raised 1,175,000 pounds of food and $641,386. Over 32 years this event has donated over 96 million pounds of food to hunger relief organizations.

Canadian Progress Club Children’s Charitable Society

The Canadian Progress Club is a Canada-wide service club, where clubs host various events throughout the year to raise money for those in need. The Edmonton area clubs focus on giving all children the same opportunities and many clubs have a history of fundraising going back 50 years.

In 2001, local Progress Clubs started the Children’s Charitable Society to provide food, clothing and other essentials to children in need. It is through the Canadian Progress Club Children’s Charitable Society (CPCCCS) that the Canstruction^® event is organized. 2026 is our 16^th year, having raised 257,206 pounds of food to date for local food banks.
