A Titanic Effort to End Hunger

Stantec and PCL Construction

This year, PCL Construction and Stantec came together to recreate one of the most recognizable feats of early 20th century engineering: the Titanic, shown alongside the iceberg that has become part of its story.

Built entirely from canned food, the structure highlights the scale, complexity, and ambition behind the original design. Every section required careful planning, balance, and precision, echoing the collaboration and technical problem solving both teams bring to their work every day.

When the structure comes down, every can will be donated to the Edmonton Food Bank, turning a well known silhouette into meaningful support for local families. That’s the heart of CANstruction: using creativity, teamwork, and engineering know how to build something that gives back to the community.
